چکیده
Biodiversity databases are changing the longevity of data in era open science. They also represent a collaboration opportunity analyzing large-scale (paleo)biological patterns beyond local project or time scale. Ostracods, microscopic crustaceans, component many biodiversity databases. live most kinds aquatic environments today and their fossil record spans nearly whole Earth's metazoan biosphere history from Ordovician to Holocene. Thus, ostracods provide an ideal model system for understanding dynamics both space time. Thanks contributors, current future ostracodologists have access that gone through numerous improvements been populated by datasets. However, rapid growth has caused confusion among users regarding available data, technical terms database aims. We review key include ostracods, summarizing development, spatial temporal coverage, various types models intertwined relationships between present quantitative summary ostracod diversity based on Paleobiology Database. Our investigations show field is transitioning traditional single focus multipurpose, static dynamic display/download independent systems collaborative networks. compare ways several approach persistent challenges such as taxonomic harmonization, validation original sampling metadata paleolocality uncertainties. With increasing capability integration, continue require enormous efforts high-quality entry careful coordination scientists teams.

Scientific Databases - State of the Art and Future Directions
Conduct of scientific and engineering research is becoming critically dependent on effective management of scientific and engineering data and technical information. The rapid advances in scientific instrumentation, computer and communication technologies enable the scientists to collect, generate, process, and share unprecedented volumes of data. For example, the Earth Observing System Data an...
متن کاملImage Databases: State of the Art and Future Directions
Over the last few years retrieving an image from an image database has become an important task. While old systems were completely based on textual descriptions of the images, the new image databases try to automatically extract as many informations as possible from the images, in order to retrieve the images that match what is specified by the user. In this paper we intend to give an overview ...
متن کاملHigh Performance Applications: State-of-the-Art and Future Requirements*
In the past, most high performance applications dealt with numerical simulation, and parallel machines were essentially used only by a relatively small group of dedicated professionals which had to cope with the idiosyncrasies of the machine at a low level of abstraction. This situation is changing quickly, driven by enhanced hardware and software support offered by a new generation of parallel...
متن کاملWafe-field Synthesis: State of the Art and Future Applications
Wave-Field Synthesis (WFS) has become one of the most promising spatial sound reproduction systems. The most basic difference of WFS in comparison to other available systems is that the acoustic field is accurately synthesized using loudspeaker arrays in a broad area, suppressing the sweet spot that characterizes conventional surround systems and giving an accurate and deep immersion for all th...
متن کاملI-4: Male Fertility Preservation Options, Current State-of-The ART and Future Implications
Background Male infertility management has made significant progress during the past three decades, especially after the introduction of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) in 1992. However, many boys and men still suffer from primary testicular failure due to acquired or genetic causes. New and novel treatments are needed to address these issues. Spermatogenesis originates from spermatogon...
